Simple Function Point: the new agile generation of functional metrics!

When simple is better!

Main advantages of the SiFP method: ISBSG productivity data immediately available; 2 to 5 times faster in measurement; easy to learn; it lowers customer-supplier disputes; available for non-specialists in measurement; same unitary costs as the IFPUG FPs may be used in contracts; immediate conversion of assets already measured using IFPUG.    »

The origins of the Simple Function Point Method

 The SiFP method has been developed by DPO in 2010, used since the late part of the year and presented at SMEF2011.

SiFP is not an estimation method (like Early & Quick FP) but a real FSMM compliant with ISO 14143 principles. It is totally compliant with the IFPUG method at the results level: if applied to the same software application portfolio they both give the same numbers.

Purpose of the Association

SiFPA is a non-profit organization and is intended to achieve four main purposes:

1- develop and disseminateworld wide the Simple Function Point method;

2- promote continuous training and professional development of its own members;

3- promote the establishment of professional networks among its members and outside;

4- contribute to software measurement's dissemination within an international context.

Other objectives are listed on the Statute of the Association.

Our main activities

The association may undertake or promote any activity deemed necessary, useful and timely, from establishing a standing observatory about state of software measurement's discipline on Italy and overseas to conducting research and development projects internationally, or promoting the spread of software measurement through stakeholder groups, debates, conferences, training courses and cultural events, as well as through publication with books, magazines or on-line magazine.
